Released in 1962, The Longest Day is a war epic that chronicles Operation Overlord from multiple viewpoints during the D-Day invasion on June 6, 1944. Director Darryl F. Zanuck assembled an ensemble cast including Eddie Albert, Jean-Louis Barrault, and Hans Christian Blech to portray soldiers and officers from German, American, British, Canadian, and Free French forces.
