In this 2000 HBO made-for-TV film, a widow played by Judi Dench decides to revive her past as the saxophone player for an all-girl swing band from the World War II era. Directed by Gillies MacKinnon, the story follows her as she reunites the original members of the Blonde Bombshells for a special performance at her granddaughter’s school dance. The ensemble cast includes Ian Holm as the band’s mischievous drummer, Cleo Laine as a former trumpeter, Olympia Dukakis as their trombonist, and Leslie Caron as the bass player, alongside other accomplished British character actors. This lighthearted comedy blends music and humor as the group discovers that life after sixty can still be full of excitement and swing.

This is a single-disc DVD release from HBO Films with a runtime of one hour and twenty-three minutes and a PG-13 rating. You can own this feel-good film on physical media at a used price that makes it easy to add to your collection.
