The Frozen Ground is a 2013 crime thriller directed by Scott Walker based on true events. Nicolas Cage stars as Alaska State Trooper Jack Holcombe, who suspects serial killer Robert Hansen of abducting, torturing, and murdering young women across the state. Lacking sufficient evidence for a warrant, Holcombe seeks help from Cindy Paulsen, one of Hansen’s few survivors, played by Vanessa Hudgens. Paulsen struggles with addiction and deep distrust, forcing Holcombe to carefully rebuild her confidence while Hansen continues his deadly spree. The film also features John Cusack as Hansen, Dean Norris, and Gia Mantegna.
