The Dirty Boogie is a 2001 album by Brian Setzer and The Brian Setzer Orchestra that blends jazz and rock through energetic swing arrangements. Setzer, known for his work with the Stray Cats, leads a large ensemble of horns and rhythm players through a collection of covers and originals that showcase his sharp guitar playing alongside a bright horn section. The album features reimagined versions of classic swing material, including Louis Prima’s “Jump Jive an’ Wail” and an Elvis Presley and Ann-Margret duet “You’re the Boss” recast as a collaboration between Setzer and Gwen Stefani of No Doubt.

This CD was recorded at The Village Recorder in West Los Angeles and includes tracks like “This Cat’s On A Hot Tin Roof,” “The Dirty Boogie,” “Sleepwalk,” “Rock This Town,” and “Since I Don’t Have You.” The album features a full orchestra lineup with multiple saxophones, trumpets, and trombones creating a lively big band sound. Picking up a used copy from us lets you experience this swing-influenced release without the cost of a new one.
