The Christmas is a holiday EP by Irish new age vocalist Enya, released in 1994. The five-track collection blends Celtic, modern classical, and new age styles, showcasing Enya’s signature layered vocals and intricate arrangements. The EP opens with “Oíche Chiún,” a rendition of the classic Christmas carol “Silent Night” performed in Gaelic, and continues with instrumental and vocal pieces including “The Celts” from her 1987 debut solo album and “Ebudæ” from her 1991 album Shepherd Moons. The collection also features two harder-to-find tracks, “‘S Fagaim Mo Bhaile” and “As Baile,” a Gaelic version of material from her earlier work.
This CD edition was released in Canada and comes in a standard jewel case. The five tracks have a combined runtime of approximately 16 minutes. A perennial holiday favorite, this used copy offers you the chance to own a sought-after seasonal recording at a fraction of retail cost.
