The Beverly Hillbillies is a 1960s sitcom that follows the Clampett family, a group of newly wealthy hillbillies who relocate to Beverly Hills and find themselves constantly at odds with the sophisticated society around them. Starring Buddy Ebsen, Donna Douglas, Irene Ryan, Max Baer Jr., and Raymond Bailey, the show centers on the family’s folksy charm and unconventional ways as they navigate their unexpected fortune and their posh new surroundings. Created by Paul Henning and written by Dick Wesson and Mark Tuttle, the series became a cultural phenomenon during its initial run.
