Howdy Doody was a groundbreaking puppet variety show that debuted in 1947 and became a cornerstone of early television. Starring the titular marionette alongside Buffalo Bob Smith, Clarabell the Clown, and a cast of colorful characters, the series entertained young viewers with comedy, music, and interactive segments that helped demonstrate television’s potential to American audiences. This collection gathers 20 episodes originally broadcast between 1949 and 1952, selected by both NBC executives and devoted fans as standout installments from the show’s legendary run.

You get a 2-disc DVD set containing over 10 hours of programming, with episodes presented in their original format including the vintage commercials that aired alongside them. Rated NR, this nostalgic package captures the charm and innovation that made Howdy Doody essential viewing for generations of children.
