CD Details
Amália Rodrigues was Portugal’s preeminent interpreter of fado, the nation’s most expressive folk tradition. Released in 1998, The Art Of Amalia Her Greatest Recordings gathers her classic renditions of this deeply emotional genre, including standout tracks like Nem Às Paredes Confesso, Maldição, and Fado Português. Her voice carries the soulful weight of the blues and flamenco traditions, delivered with a distinctive warmth and phrasing that set her apart. Backed by simple guitar and Portuguese mandolin, these recordings showcase fado’s aching laments and flowing melodies across material ranging from traditional folk to popular compositions.
This CD was released by Parlophone and contains eleven tracks spanning Rodrigues’ most celebrated work. A used copy from us means you own a piece of Portuguese musical heritage at a fraction of retail cost.
