The Amazing Race is a reality competition series that premiered in 2001 on CBS. Created by Bertram van Munster and Elise Doganieri, the show follows 11 teams of two as they embark on a grueling 30-40 day journey around the world. Competitors must navigate multiple continents and cities using clues, limited cash, and their wits to reach each pit stop ahead of their rivals. The winning team claims a one million dollar prize. Teams range from recently engaged couples to lifelong partners, friends, family members, and professional colleagues, each facing physical and mental challenges that will test their endurance, patience, and relationships.

This is the complete first season on 4 DVDs, containing 13 episodes with a total runtime of 9 hours and 42 minutes. The season is rated TV-PG and includes the two-part finale “Race to the Finish,” along with memorable challenges like bungee jumping in Zambia and eating beetles in Beijing, with stops across Paris, Rome, Tunis, New Delhi, Bangkok, and beyond.
