T-Rex: Back to the Cretaceous is a 1998 animated adventure film from IMAX directed by Brett Leonard. When teenager Ally Hayden accidentally cracks a fossilized T. rex egg in her father’s museum laboratory, she is transported back to the Cretaceous period. There she encounters various prehistoric creatures and meets historical figures like dinosaur illustrator Charles Knight and paleontologist Barnum Brown. Through her journey, Ally comes face to face with a maternal tyrannosaur and gains its respect by protecting one of its eggs, all while confirming her own dinosaur research theories.

This is a single-disc DVD presentation of the 45-minute family-friendly film, not rated. Originally created for IMAX theaters with 3-D effects, the movie features CGI dinosaur animation and educational content suited for younger viewers.
