Swamp Shark is a 2011 creature-horror film directed by Griff Furst and set in the Louisiana bayou. When an animal smuggling operation goes wrong, a massive sea creature escapes into the murky waters of the Atchafalaya Basin. A local man is killed near the McDaniel family’s Gator Shack restaurant, and the sheriff wrongly blames their gators, threatening to arrest them. Rachel McDaniel insists she saw a shark fin and teams up with a mysterious stranger named Charlie to prove her family’s innocence, stop the creature before it reaches the upcoming Gator Fest, and save her younger sister Krystal from the unknown beast terrorizing the swamps. The film stars D.B. Sweeney, Kristy Swanson, Jason Rogel, Jeff Chase, and Richard Tanne.
