Surf’s Up is a 2007 animated sports comedy directed by Ash Brannon and Chris Buck. Voiced by Shia LaBeouf, Cody Maverick is a young penguin from Antarctica with big dreams of winning a prestigious surfing competition named after his idol, the legendary Big Z (Jeff Bridges). When Cody enters the contest, he discovers that his drive to win may not be enough to overcome the ruthless defending champion, Tank Evans. Along the way, he learns that friendship and personal growth matter more than trophies and glory. The film also features the voices of Zooey Deschanel and James Woods.
