SUBURBAN SHOOTOUT

Movie / Show Details

Suburban Shootout is a British comedy series from 2006 that puts a darkly humorous spin on the suburban housewife archetype. Directed by Gordon Anderson and Vito Rocco, the show stars Amelia Bullmore, Anna Chancellor, Felicity Montagu, and Ralph Ineson as members of two rival teams of armed operatives hiding in plain sight as everyday homemakers. The central conflict pits matriarchs Camilla Diamond and Barbara Du Prez against each other as they command their respective squads of combat-ready women through an escalating turf war played entirely for laughs.

This single-disc DVD release contains the complete series with a runtime of two hours and fifty-one minutes and carries a not-rated designation. The show blends the criminal intrigue of The Sopranos with the domestic comedy of Desperate Housewives, delivering clever, fast-paced storytelling that critics praised for its wickedly satirical edge and energetic humor.
