Stephen Sondheim’s Follies is a legendary musical, and this 1998 CD from Varese Sarabande captures its essence through jazz interpretation. The Terry Trotter Trio takes on eight selections from the show, including “Opening,” “Waiting For The Girl Upstairs,” “Too Many Mornings,” and “I’m Still Here,” blending contemporary jazz with free improvisation to create fresh arrangements of Sondheim’s iconic compositions.

This single disc features the trio’s instrumental renderings of Follies themes, running approximately 43 minutes. It’s a used copy of a stage and screen jazz album that brings new life to classic musical theater material, and you’ll own a physical copy at a fraction of the original retail cost.
