Stephen King’s The Stand is a 1994 television miniseries that adapts the author’s sprawling novel about humanity’s struggle to survive and rebuild. When a devastating plague escapes from a government laboratory and decimates the world’s population, the few survivors find themselves drawn in opposite directions. Some are called westward by the voice of an ancient woman toward Boulder, Colorado, while others are compelled to follow a mysterious and sinister figure to Las Vegas. The story follows these disparate groups as they attempt to establish new civilizations, with the knowledge that an inevitable confrontation between good and evil awaits them. Gary Sinise, Jamey Sheridan, Laura San Giacomo, Matt Frewer, Miguel Ferrer, and Molly Ringwald star in this ambitious adaptation directed by Mick Garris.

This two-disc DVD set contains the complete miniseries with a total runtime of nearly six hours and carries a TV-14 rating from ABC. A used copy gives you the chance to experience King’s epic tale of apocalypse and redemption without the cost of a new release.
