Fugazi’s second album, released in 1991, finds the Washington DC post-punk band slowing their approach while maintaining their confrontational edge. Featuring Brendan Canty and Guy Picciotto alongside bandmates, Steady Diet of Nothing explores themes ranging from social alienation to consumer culture through angular guitar work and unconventional song structures. The group’s willingness to dismantle punk rock conventions results in introspective, deliberately paced compositions that prioritize experimental arrangements over immediate hooks, with standout tracks like “Reclamation” and “Nice New Outfit” showcasing the band’s ability to craft compelling material within their distinctive framework.

This CD contains ten tracks spanning roughly 32 minutes of music, released on Dischord Records. A used copy of this influential post-punk record offers a chance to own a pivotal moment in alternative rock history at a fraction of retail cost.
