St. Vincent is a 2014 comedy-drama directed by Theodore Melfi that follows a young boy navigating his parents’ divorce who forms an unexpected bond with his gruff, aging neighbor. Bill Murray stars as Vincent, a Vietnam veteran living a self-indulgent lifestyle with little regard for his future, while Jaeden Martell plays Oliver, the boy next door who needs supervision. When Oliver’s mother, played by Melissa McCarthy, seeks a babysitter, Vincent accepts the job for the money, but their transactional arrangement gradually transforms into a genuine friendship.
