Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron is a 2002 animated adventure from DreamWorks that follows a wild mustang determined to remain free in the Old West. When Spirit is captured by horse traders and sold to a cavalry regiment, a cruel colonel attempts to break his spirit, but the stallion refuses to submit. He escapes alongside Little Creek, a Native American youth who seeks to tame him through gentler means, and encounters Rain, a beautiful mare who captures his heart. After a devastating separation, Spirit is enslaved to work on the transcontinental railroad, yet he never stops fighting for his freedom and his chance to reunite with those he loves.
