Skip Battin’s 2003 rock album draws from his extensive background in country-rock and folk-rock traditions. Battin built his career across multiple influential groups, including the Byrds and New Riders of the Purple Sage, while also collaborating closely with producer Kim Fowley on the Los Angeles country-rock scene. This album showcases his distinctive blend of classic rock sensibilities with satirical storytelling, featuring contributions from Byrds members Roger McGuinn and Clarence White. Tracks like “Undercover Man,” “The Ballad of Dick Clark,” and “Captain Video” demonstrate his eclectic approach to songwriting and arrangement.
