Silver Linings Playbook is a 2012 drama-comedy written by David O. Russell and Matthew Quick. Bradley Cooper stars as Pat Solatano, a former teacher who has lost his job, his house, and his marriage. After eight months in a state institution, Pat moves back in with his parents, played by Robert DeNiro and Jacki Weaver, determined to rebuild his life and win back his wife. When he meets Tiffany, a widow dealing with her own emotional wounds and portrayed by Jennifer Lawrence, an unexpected connection develops between them. As Tiffany offers to help Pat reconnect with his estranged wife in exchange for his assistance with something important to her, the two form an unlikely bond that brings unexpected hope to both their lives.
