Rubén Blades and Willie Colón created one of salsa music’s most influential partnerships with this 1977 collaboration. Blades, a Panamanian singer and composer raised in a musical household, brought his distinctive voice and songwriting to Colón’s orchestra after earlier work with Ray Barretto. The album showcases their signature timba-influenced sound through tracks like the iconic “Pedro Navaja,” a narrative-driven piece that became a cornerstone of their legacy, alongside compositions such as “Plastico,” “Buscando Guayaba,” and the title track “Siembra.”

This 2006 CD reissue presents the complete album on a single disc via Fania Records, running approximately 42 minutes across seven tracks including “Maria Lionza,” “Ojos,” and “Dime.” Owning this used copy lets you experience a landmark moment in Latin music history at a fraction of the original cost.
