Benedict Cumberbatch stars as Sherlock Holmes in this contemporary British adaptation of Arthur Conan Doyle’s detective stories, alongside Martin Freeman as Dr. Watson. Set in 21st-century London, the series follows the brilliant detective and his trusted companion as they tackle complex crimes using modern methods and sharp intellect. Season 2, released in 2012, features three feature-length episodes that pit Holmes against formidable adversaries, including the cunning Irene Adler in “A Scandal in Belgravia,” a mysterious supernatural threat on Dartmoor in “The Hounds of Baskerville,” and the criminal mastermind Moriarty in “The Reichenbach Fall.”

This DVD edition contains two discs with a total runtime of four hours and twenty-five minutes, rated TV-14. Directed by Paul McGuigan and Toby Haynes with writing by Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat, the set includes audio commentaries for episodes one and two, plus the featurette “Sherlock Uncovered.” A used copy from us means you own the physical media without the new retail price tag.
