Alex Nicol directed this 1958 horror-thriller from American International Pictures, based on Francis Marion Crawford’s story and adapted by John Kneubuhl. John Hudson stars as Eric, a widower who brings his new bride Jenni, played by Peggy Webber, to his grand mansion. Jenni has struggled with mental illness, and once settled into her new home, she becomes convinced that Eric’s first wife, who died under unclear circumstances, is haunting her. Strange occurrences plague the estate, and Jenni hears terrifying screams and witnesses a mysterious skull appearing at the doors. No one around her seems to experience these phenomena, leaving her isolated and questioning her own sanity as psychological terror closes in.

This unrated B-movie runs 68 minutes on a single Bluray disc. The film explores themes of paranoia and gaslighting through its atmospheric approach to horror. Russ Conway rounds out the cast in this low-budget chiller that captures the spirit of 1950s creature features and psychological scares.
