CD Details

Scarecrow is a pop and rock album by John Cougar Mellencamp that became a defining moment in his career, solidifying his reputation with both fans and critics alike. The record showcases Mellencamp’s deep connection to his native Indiana, with songs that celebrate small-town life and rural American values. Tracks like “Small Town,” “Rain on the Scarecrow,” and “Rumbleseat” reflect the artist’s genuine concern for farming communities, themes that would soon lead him to co-found the Farm Aid benefit concert series. Other standout songs such as “Lonely Ol’ Night” and “Minutes To Memories” reveal the heartfelt songwriting at the core of this album.

This CD edition contains all the album tracks, including “Grandma’s Theme,” “The Face Of The Nation,” “Justice And Independence ’85,” and “Between A Laugh And A Tear.” A used copy of Scarecrow gives you access to one of rock’s most important albums of the 1980s at a fraction of retail cost.
