Satsang: A Meditation In Song and Silence

CD Details

Satsang: A Meditation In Song and Silence is a 2002 live recording from Deva Premal and Miten, captured across performances in Australia, America, Germany, and Denmark. Deva Premal plays keyboards while Miten contributes guitar, joined by special guests Kit Walker, Maneesh de Moor, Praful, and others. The album presents unplugged renditions of beloved chants from Premal’s earlier albums, including “Gayatri Mantra,” “Chidananda,” and “Yemaya Assessu,” alongside original songs by Miten. Following the tradition of actual Satsang meditation, the performances unfold without applause, encouraging listeners to join in the chanting and embrace the sacred silence between songs.

This CD contains ten tracks spanning nearly an hour of music, with a bonus studio recording of “All Is Welcome Here” included. The album blends electronic, folk, world, and country influences while maintaining the meditative essence of mantra-based music.
