Santa Fe’s Mojave Mainline is a 2007 documentary that takes viewers back to 1992 to explore the Needles Subdivision, one of the busiest rail corridors in America at that time. Running between Needles and Barstow through California’s Mojave Desert, this rugged stretch served as a vital link in the Santa Fe Railway’s cross-country mainline. The film captures the challenge of operating heavy trains across remote desert terrain, passing through stations including Java, Homer, Goffs, Essex, Cadiz, Amboy, Bagdad, Ludlow, and Daggett, while showcasing the variety of locomotives that powered these trains, from SD45-2s and SD40-2s to GP60s and GE B40-8s, many painted in Santa Fe’s iconic red and silver Warbonnet scheme.

This is a single-disc DVD with a runtime of 75 minutes, presented as a documentary by Pentrex. The program includes video graphics to help identify photo locations throughout the presentation. Own this piece of railroad history on physical media at a used price.
