James Woods stars as a cynical war photographer whose initial motivation is capturing shocking images to revive his stalled career. As he witnesses the violence inflicted on civilians caught between leftist guerrillas and right-wing military forces, his perspective shifts. He becomes determined to rescue his girlfriend and her children from the conflict, a mission that forces him to confront his own humanity amid the chaos and bloodshed surrounding him.
