Roisin Murphy, best known as the lead singer of Moloko, released Ruby Blue in 2006 as her debut solo album. Co-produced by electronic pioneer Matthew Herbert in his first production work outside his own projects, the album blends downtempo, experimental, and future jazz elements into an inventive and melancholic sound. The record features tracks like Leaving the City, Night of the Dancing Flame, and Ramalama (Bang Bang), showcasing Murphy’s distinctive vocal style over Herbert’s intricate production work.
