Romeo And Juliet

Movie / Show Details

Baz Luhrmann’s 1996 adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet transplants the classic tragedy to modern-day Verona Beach, where the feuding Montague and Capulet families clash in a contemporary urban setting. Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes star as the young lovers whose secret marriage ignites a chain of events leading to devastating consequences. The film preserves Shakespeare’s original dialogue while surrounding it with a stylized, visually inventive world that features an ensemble cast including Harold Perrineau, John Leguizamo, and Paul Rudd.

This is a single-disc DVD release from Twentieth Century Fox with a runtime of two hours and a PG-13 rating. Luhrmann and Craig Pearce adapted the screenplay alongside Shakespeare’s text. Add this visually striking take on the Bard’s most famous love story to your collection at a used price.
