Rio Grande is a 1950 Western directed by John Ford that completes his celebrated cavalry trilogy. John Wayne stars as Lt. Col. Kirby Yorke, a military commander stationed on the Texas frontier who faces dual challenges: managing Apache conflicts while confronting his estranged son, played by Claude Jarman Jr., who has enlisted as a young recruit under his command.
