Denzel Washington stars as Nick Styles, a former street cop turned attorney in this 1991 action thriller directed by Russell Mulcahy. Years after arresting the psychotic killer Blake (John Lithgow), a videotaped arrest makes Nick a media sensation and launches his legal career. Blake, consumed by rage while imprisoned, orchestrates an elaborate escape and fakes his own death to pursue a campaign of intimidation, humiliation, and murder against Nick. With everyone believing Blake is dead, Nick finds himself powerless to stop the violence. Forced back into the criminal underworld, Nick reunites with his old friend Odessa (Ice-T) to set a trap and confront the killer in a final, brutal showdown.
