Resident Evil is a 2002 action-horror film directed by Paul W.S. Anderson that stars Michelle Rodriguez, Colin Salmon, Eric Mabius, and James Purefoy. When a catastrophic virus outbreak transforms scientists into flesh-eating zombies and mutates animals into deadly creatures within a secret research facility, an elite military team is dispatched to investigate and contain the disaster before it spreads beyond the compound’s walls.

This Deluxe Edition DVD from Screen Gems presents the film in its 100-minute theatrical cut with Dolby 5.1 surround sound. Bonus features include an alternate ending with different action sequences, a commentary track by Anderson and visual effects supervisor Richard Yuricich, a separate commentary with Anderson, producer Jeremy Bolt, and actors Milla Jovovich and Michelle Rodriguez, featurettes exploring the film’s storyboarding and connection to the video game source material, and six visual effects featurettes covering elements like the laser sequence and zombie dogs.
