Rescue Me is a TV-MA dramedy following the firefighters of Ladder Company 62 in New York City during the post-9/11 era. Season 5, which aired in 2009, stars Denis Leary as Tommy Gavin alongside Andrea Roth, Daniel Sunjata, Steven Pasquale, and Mike Lombardi. The season centers on a French journalist researching a book about the 10th anniversary of 9/11, whose interviews with the firefighters and families of victims force Tommy to confront painful truths about that day, particularly regarding his cousin Jimmy’s death.
