Reign Over Me is a 2007 drama directed by Mike Binder that explores grief and recovery in the aftermath of September 11. Adam Sandler stars as Charlie Fineman, a man devastated by the loss of his family in the attacks, who has withdrawn from the world through escapism and isolation. When his old college roommate Alan Johnson, played by Don Cheadle, reconnects with him, their renewed friendship becomes a lifeline. Supported by a cast including Donald Sutherland, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Liv Tyler, the film examines how loss ripples outward and how compassion and patience can help someone navigate unbearable sadness and trauma.
