Quantum Leap is a 1989 science fiction drama series created by Donald P. Bellisario and Deborah Pratt. Scott Bakula stars as Dr. Sam Beckett, a physicist who becomes trapped in the past after an experiment with time travel goes wrong. Unable to return to his own era, Sam is forced to leap through different time periods and into the bodies of various people, where he must set things right before moving on. Dean Stockwell plays Al, a holographic guide from Sam’s own time who appears only to Sam and helps him navigate each new situation and work toward his ultimate goal of getting home.
