Two sessions spanning 1950 to 1954 showcase the legendary jazz vocalist performing swing standards and popular ballads, accompanied by pianist Ellis Larkins. The first session features an all-Gershwin program, while the second draws from composers including Cole Porter, Sammy Cahn, and Hoagy Carmichael. Larkins’s refined piano work provides an elegant backdrop for Fitzgerald’s mature artistry and impeccable phrasing.
