Fishbone and Familyhood Nextperience released this funk and ska album in 2000 after a four-year break from recording. The Los Angeles band brings their signature high-energy blend of funk, rock, and ska to tracks like “Shakey Ground,” “The Suffering,” and “Karma Tsunami.” The album features contributions from the Psychotic Friends, a group of devoted fans and musicians who add their talents to the songs, alongside guest appearances from notable artists including Perry Farrell, Gwen Stefani, George Clinton, Rick James, and Blowfly on the standout track “Everybody is a Star.”

This is a single CD released on Hollywood Records featuring ten tracks ranging from three to nearly six minutes each. The album showcases Fishbone’s brass-driven sound across reggae-influenced pop, midtempo funk, and ska numbers that highlight the band’s ability to blend multiple genres into one cohesive listening experience. Grab this used copy and discover why Fishbone remains one of funk and ska’s most inventive acts.
