Promises and Lies is a reggae album by UB40 released in 1993. The band crafted a collection that blends their signature reggae-rock sound with both original compositions and reinterpretations of existing material. Among the standout tracks is their cover of Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” which was featured in the film Sliver and receives a fresh treatment through UB40’s horn arrangements and reggae-dub production. The album also showcases “Reggae Music,” a dancehall-influenced piece that pairs Astro’s toasting vocals with the smooth pop-soul harmonies of Ali and Robin Campbell.

This is a compact disc edition containing 11 tracks including “C’est La Vie,” “Desert Sand,” “Promises and Lies,” “Bring Me Your Cup,” “Higher Ground,” and others. You can own this reggae release on CD as a used copy from us.
