This 1983 opera collection presents renowned tenor Plácido Domingo performing three major roles from Giuseppe Verdi’s repertoire. The program features Domingo as Otello, in Il Trovatore alongside singers including Raina Kabaivanska and Piero Cappuccilli, and as the bandit Ernani opposite Mirella Freni, Renato Bruson, and Nicolai Ghiaurov. These performances showcase the dramatic intensity and melodic richness that define Verdi’s most celebrated operas, with Domingo’s interpretations of these demanding tenor roles at the center of each production.

Released by Kultur on a single DVD, this two-hour collection captures live opera performances conducted by leading maestros of the era. The program is not rated and presents these classic Italian operas in their full theatrical context. Owning this used copy lets you experience Domingo’s artistry across multiple Verdi masterworks at a fraction of the original retail cost.
