Outland is a 1981 science fiction western thriller directed by and written by Peter Hyams. Set on Io, one of Jupiter’s moons, the film follows federal marshal William O’Niel as he investigates a series of deaths at a mining colony. O’Niel uncovers a sinister operation in which the corrupt mine manager has been distributing a powerful stimulant to workers, boosting their productivity until the drug causes them to become violent and unstable. When O’Niel threatens to expose the truth, he finds himself isolated and targeted by the manager’s hired killers. Sean Connery stars as O’Niel, with supporting performances from Steven Berkoff and John Ratzenberger.

This single-disc DVD presents the film in widescreen and full screen formats with a runtime of one hour and forty-nine minutes. The Ladd Company release carries an R rating.
