Our Idiot Brother is a 2011 comedy-drama directed by Jesse Peretz about Ned, a cheerful organic farmer whose simple, honest nature disrupts the carefully constructed lives of his three sisters. After a marijuana-related incident lands him in jail, Ned moves in with his siblings, and his straightforward approach to life inadvertently uncovers infidelity, workplace misconduct, relationship deception, and moral compromises each of them has been hiding. While his sisters dismiss him as an idiot, Ned’s genuine perspective becomes a catalyst for positive change, ultimately helping the family confront uncomfortable truths and find their way toward resolution.
