On the Beach is a 2000 Australian television film that imagines humanity’s last chapter following a devastating nuclear war. While Australia initially survives the initial blast, the continent faces an approaching wave of deadly radiation that will inevitably reach its shores. When an American submarine emerges, the nation must grapple with its own mortality and the limits of scientific knowledge in the face of extinction. David Williamson and John Paxton adapted Nevil Shute’s source material for this sobering drama.

This single-disc DVD release comes from Showtime Networks and carries an IMDb rating of 6.9. A used copy from us means you own this thought-provoking science fiction film without the new price tag.
