Paul Simon’s solo career after Simon and Garfunkel is surveyed on this 1988 compilation, which gathers 16 of his hits from 1971 to 1986. The tracks span diverse musical influences, from reggae rhythms on “Mother and Child Reunion” to South African sounds on “You Can Call Me Al,” showcasing Simon’s restless exploration of different grooves. Notable selections include “Hearts and Bones,” a sharp examination of a failing relationship, and “Slip Slidin’ Away,” which captures the pain of divorce and aging over a distinctly mid-seventies sound.

This single CD reissue of a two-record set features 16 tracks including “Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard,” “Kodachrome,” “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover,” and “Still Crazy After All These Years.” Grab this used copy and own a collection of Paul Simon’s most recognizable solo work.
