Austria’s musical and architectural heritage comes alive in this 2006 documentary, which pairs compositions by Wolfgang Mozart with a visual journey through the country’s past and present. The film visits historic towns including Stein-Krems and Salzburg, explores Vienna’s Imperial Treasury and the former imperial residence at Laxenburg, and showcases the distinctive contemporary architecture of Hundertwasser. Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto, composed in Vienna shortly before his death in 1791, and his Oboe Concerto K.314, written in Salzburg in 1777, provide the musical foundation for this cultural tour.

This single-disc DVD release runs fifty-eight minutes and comes from Naxos. Owning this used copy means enjoying a musical journey through Austria at a fraction of the cost of a new purchase.
