When his father finally allows him to choose from the herd, Ken selects a beautiful and spirited filly he names Flicka. Though the horse comes from a bloodline considered wild and untamable, Ken is determined to win her trust and prove that both he and the animal are worth believing in. Through patience and devotion, the boy begins to mature while learning valuable lessons about love, faith, and hope.
