This 2016 Murdoch Mysteries TV special takes place in Edwardian-era Toronto, where Detective William Murdoch investigates a series of daring train robberies happening just before Christmas. Witnesses claim the thief possesses superhuman abilities, leading Constable Crabtree to suspect his fictional creation, Jumping Jack, has somehow come to life. As more robberies targeting luxury gifts from Eaton’s department store plague the city, Murdoch and his team must determine whether they are chasing a real criminal or something far more extraordinary. Meanwhile, Inspector Brackenreid orders the formation of a police choir, and Dr. Julia Ogden attempts to assist two orphans who believe she is a fairytale character.

Directed by T.W. Peacocke and written by Bob Carney, Cal Coons, and Carol Hay, this one-disc DVD special runs 90 minutes and stars Yannick Bisson, Helene Joy, Jonny Harris, Thomas Craig, and Lachlan Murdoch. Released by Acorn Media, it holds an IMDb rating of 8.3. Add this holiday mystery to your collection at a used price that won’t drain your budget.
