A 2007 comedy directed by Craig Gillespie, Mr. Woodcock follows John Farley, an author who has written a bestselling book about moving past trauma, as he returns to his hometown to receive a community honor. To his dismay, he discovers his widowed mother is engaged to marry Mr. Woodcock, his former high school gym teacher whose cruel behavior tormented John throughout his youth. Determined to stop the wedding, John teams up with his old friend Nedderman to sabotage the relationship, leading to a clash between his adult self and the ghosts of his past.
