Pérez Prado and His Orchestra created mambo by blending jazz with Latin rhythms, establishing themselves as one of the era’s most innovative bandleaders. This 1995 compilation gathers twenty tracks from Prado’s catalog, including his chart-topping hits “Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White” and “Patricia,” alongside deeper cuts featuring blazing horns, robust percussion, and Prado’s own vocal calls. Singer Beny Moré contributes vocals to several standout numbers, while Prado demonstrates his piano skills on “Pianolo.” The collection also includes Prado’s original “Mambo No. 5,” the composition that would later become a worldwide hit when reinterpreted by another artist.

Released on Rhino Records, this CD contains the full selection of mambo and Latin jazz standards spanning Prado’s most celebrated work. Acquire this used copy and enjoy classic big band mambo at a fraction of retail cost.
