Miss Saigon is a musical by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg that reimagines Madame Butterfly against the backdrop of the Vietnam War. This 1990 CD presents highlights from the 1989 London cast production, capturing the score’s most memorable moments across roughly 58 minutes. The album features key numbers including the opening “The Heat Is On In Saigon,” the emotional “Why God Why,” the romantic duet “The Last Night Of The World,” and the female duet “I Still Believe,” alongside other standout tracks that showcase the musical’s beautiful and passionate composition.

Released by Geffen Records, this highlights edition on CD includes production photos and full lyrics in the booklet. While casual listeners will find these selections satisfying, the format does omit certain songs and plot-advancing music from the complete recording. Grab this used copy and experience a snapshot of one of musical theater’s most celebrated scores.
