Beck’s 1994 debut album Mellow Gold blends electronic production with slacker sensibilities and blues-influenced storytelling. Rather than relying on novelty alone, Beck establishes himself as a musical provocateur, crafting songs that range from the melancholic delta blues of “Whiskeyclone, Hotel City 1997” to urban anxieties captured in tracks like “Truckdrivin’ Neighbors Downstairs (Yellow Sweat).” The album features the breakthrough single “Loser” alongside deeper cuts including “Pay No Mind (Snoozer),” “Beercan,” and “Sweet Sunshine,” showcasing an artist unafraid to experiment across genres and moods.

This is the original CD release on DGC Records, containing all ten tracks from the album. A used copy of Mellow Gold offers a chance to own this influential debut without the new retail price.
